DIY Barkuterie Boards

Every dog deserves something special. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, gotcha day, or a Tuesday, creating a barkuterie board is a fun activity for both you and your pup.

First, pick a theme. Obviously this is optional, but it’s fun. Your theme can be, my dog likes this, or, favorite summer fruits… maybe there’s a holiday coming up, whatever it is, do it, and do it wholeheartedly. Your dog won’t know, but you certainly will and so will the pictures that you post.

Second, get a variety of foods that your dog can eat. I like to mix it up between dog treats; human food, like fruits and veggies; and things that I’ve made for them, like homemade dog treats or things mixed together and frozen in a mold.

Third, put it together. This is the fun part! The board is an essential part of what makes it barkuterie, and this can’t be overlooked. Select your perfect Loki Doki Dog Barkuterie Board that can be customized + personalized just for your pup, and start putting it together. Odd numbers of things typically work best. If you are going for something visual, think about the colors of the things you are using. There are literally endless ways of putting together a fun board for your pup.

One of the things I love to do is use my Loki Doki Dog cutters for both homemade dog treats and to cut different dog friendly human foods (cheese, fruit, veggies, and even some dog treats) into fun shapes that take the board to the next level. Remember to limit the amount of treats and extras that your dogs get and always check to make sure they can have what you’re giving them.
